German-French-Italian-English dictionary of plant names and technical terms used in the NFI. Definitions are given for the terms highlighted in yellow.

• stand age

  Age of the main stand within the reference stand according to an estimate of age, or by counts of tree rings or branches.
• [de] Bestandesalter
  Alter des Hauptbestandes im massgebenden Bestand aufgrund einer Altersschätzung, oder von Jahrring- oder Astquirlzählungen.
• [fr] âge du peuplement
  Âge du peuplement principal dans le peuplement déterminant, établi par estimation de l'âge ou parcomptage des cernes ou des verticilles.
• [it] età del popolamento
  Età del popolamento principale nel popolamento determinante. Il dato può derivare da una stima, da una conta degli anelli di accrescimento oppure dei verticilli dei rami.

• The German, French and Italien plant names were taken mainly from the book Die häufigsten Waldbäume der Schweiz or from the Flora Helvetica
• The English plant names were taken form the internet (swiss web flora, PLANTS Database and Dictionary of Common Names by plantpress.com). The notations and abbreviations were taken from IPNI - The international Plant Names Index.
