On this page you find the translations of woody species and of terms as well as their explanations (marked with yellow background), which were used in the NFI.

  • land use statistics

    Federal land use statistics of Switzerland from 1979/85. Survey of land use in a 100 x 100 m grid. Since 1983 a similar forest definition and the same forest types have been used for the land use statistics as for the NFI field survey.

    Amtliche Bodennutzungsstatistik der Schweiz 1979/85. Erhebung der Bodennutzung in einem Raster von 100 x 100 m. Seit 1983 werden in der Arealstatistik eine ähnliche Walddefinition und die gleichen Waldtypen wie bei den Feldaufnahmen des LFI verwendet.

    Statistique officielle de l'utilisation des sols en Suisse 1979/85. Relevé de l'utilisation du sol sur une grille d'inventaire de 100 m x 100 m. Depuis 1983, elle utilise une définition de la forêt semblable et des types de forêt identiques à ceux des relevés terrestres de l'IFN.

    Statistica amministrativa sull'uso del suolo in Svizzera nel periodo 1979/85. Rilievo dell'uso del suolo in base ad una griglia di 100x100 m. Dal 1983 queste informazioni statistiche vengono raccolte utilizzando una definizione di bosco molto simile e gli stessi tipi forestali dei rilievi di campagna dell'IFN.

    WT = Waldbauliche Terminologie (Brünig und Mayer 1980)
    Anl. LFI = Anleitung für die Feldaufnahmen der Erhebung 1993-1995 (Stierlin et al. 1994)
  • The German, French and Italien plant names were taken mainly from the book Die häufigsten Waldbäume der Schweiz or from the Flora Helvetica
  • The English plant names were taken form the internet (swiss web flora, PLANTS Database and Dictionary of Common Names by plantpress.com). The notations and abbreviations were taken from IPNI - The international Plant Names Index.
