German-French-Italian-English dictionary of plant names and technical terms used in the NFI. Definitions are given for the terms highlighted in yellow.
main stand
Stand layer in most of the wood production takes place (according to TFW), i.e all dominant and co-dominant trees - see also stand, secondary stand.- [de] Hauptbestand
Bestandesschicht, auf der das Hauptgewicht der Holzproduktion liegt (nach TFW), d.h. alle herrschenden und mitherrschenden Bäume, siehe auch Bestand, Nebenbestand. - [fr] peuplement principale
Strate du peuplement sur laquelle se concentre la production de bois (selon TFW), soit les arbres dominants et codominants, voir aussi peuplement, peuplement accessoire. - [it] popolamento principale
Strato del popolamento di maggior peso nella produzione di legname (da TFW), quindi tutti gli alberi dominanti e codominanti. Vedi anche popolamento, popolamento accessorio.

- The English plant names were taken form the internet (swiss web flora, PLANTS Database and Dictionary of Common Names by plantpress.com). The notations and abbreviations were taken from IPNI - The international Plant Names Index.
