German-French-Italian-English dictionary of plant names and technical terms used in the NFI. Definitions are given for the terms highlighted in yellow.
tree species
Plant species with a ligneous, upright stem, which grows to a height of at least 5 m if undisturbed (according to WT and LdF). In the NFI only tree species that are listed in the NFI Field Manual are differentiated. Some of them are grouped into the 10 most important tree species (main tree species).- [de] Baumart
Pflanzenart mit verholztem, aufrechtem Stamm, die bei ungestörtem Wachstum eine Höhe von mehr als 5 m erreicht (nach WT und LdF). Im LFI werden nur die in der Aufnahmeanleitung LFI (S. 78/79) aufgeführten Baumarten unterschieden. Diese werden z.T. zu den 10 wichtigsten Baumarten (Hauptbaumarten) zusammengefasst. - [fr] essence

Specie vegetale con un fusto legnoso, eretto e in grado di raggiungere, in condizioni di accrescimento indisturbate, più di 5 m di altezza (da WT e LdF). Nell'IFN vengono distinte solo le specie arboree riportate nelle Istr. IFN (p. 78/79). Queste vengono in parte riunite nelle 10 specie arboree più importanti (specie arboree principali).

- The English plant names were taken form the internet (swiss web flora, PLANTS Database and Dictionary of Common Names by plantpress.com). The notations and abbreviations were taken from IPNI - The international Plant Names Index.
