German-French-Italian-English dictionary of plant names and technical terms used in the NFI. Definitions are given for the terms highlighted in yellow.

• final cutting

  Laminary use of the remaining stand. Clear cutting is done to harvest wood and to release already available regeneration or to start a young forest.
• [de] Räumung
  Flächige Nutzung des verbleibenden Bestandes. Die Räumung dient der Holzernte und der Freistellung bereits vorhandener Verjüngung oder der Begründung von Jungwald.
• [fr] réalisation
  Exploitation complète du peuplement restant. La réalisation permet de récolter les bois et de dégager un rajeunissement déjà présente ou de créer une jeune forêt.
• [it] taglio di sgombero
  Utilizzazione su tutta la superficie del popolamento residuo. Il taglio di sgombero serve a raccogliere il legname, a liberare la rinnovazione presente o a istaurare il bosco giovane.

• The German, French and Italien plant names were taken mainly from the book Die häufigsten Waldbäume der Schweiz or from the Flora Helvetica
• The English plant names were taken form the internet (swiss web flora, PLANTS Database and Dictionary of Common Names by plantpress.com). The notations and abbreviations were taken from IPNI - The international Plant Names Index.
