German-French-Italian-English dictionary of plant names and technical terms used in the NFI. Definitions are given for the terms highlighted in yellow.
biodiversity (biological diversity)
The most frequent usage comprises the three aspects genetic diversity, species diversity and diversity of ecosystems. In practice this means virtually the entire living natural world.- [de] Biodiversität
Die häufigste Verwendung umfasst die drei Aspekte genetische Vielfalt, Vielfalt der Arten und der Ökosysteme. Der Begriff steht damit praktisch gleichbedeutend für die Gesamtheit der belebten Natur. - [fr] biodiversité
L'acceptation courante englobe trois aspects: la diversité génétique, la diversité des espèces et celle des écosystèmes. La signification de ce terme correspond ainsi pratiquement à l'ensemble de la nature vivante. - [it] biodiversità
Nell'accezione più comune sono compresi i seguenti tre aspetti: molteplicità genetica, specifica ed ecosistemica. Il concetto viene quindi usato come sinonimo per la totalità della natura vivente.

- The English plant names were taken form the internet (swiss web flora, PLANTS Database and Dictionary of Common Names by plantpress.com). The notations and abbreviations were taken from IPNI - The international Plant Names Index.
