forest
Ecosystem continually covered with trees. The food and agricultural organisation of the united nations (FAO) defines forest if an area of at least 0.5 ha is covered by 10% with trees of a minimum height of 5 m. The Swiss NFI defines areas as forest if they are covered with at least 20% by trees and have a width of at least 25 to 50 m (depending on the tree cover) and the trees reach at least a height of 3m.
Wald
Ökosystem, das dauerhaft mit Bäumen bewachsen ist. Die Ernährungs- und Landwirtschaftsorganisation der UNO (FAO) spricht von Wald, wenn der Deckungsgrad mindestens 10 % und die Ausdehnung mindestens 0,5 ha beträgt, bei einer erreichbaren Mindesthöhe der Bäume von 5 m. Im LFI werden jene Flächen als Wald bezeichnet, die die Walddefinition LFI erfüllen. Siehe auch Walddefinition.
forêt
Écosystème couvert en permanence d’arbres. L’organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO) parle de forêt lorsque le degré de recouvrement est d’au moins 10% et la superficie de plus de 0,5 ha, et que les arbres peuvent atteindre au moins 5 m de hauteur. Dans l’IFN, sont considérées comme forêts les surfaces qui répondent à la définition de l’IFN.
bosco (sin.: foresta)
Ecosistema permanentemente ricoperto da alberi. L'Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite per l'Alimentazione e l'Agricoltura (FAO) definisce come foresta una superficie di almeno 0,5 ettari con un grado di copertura minimo del 10%, dove gli alberi possono raggiungere un'altezza di almeno 5 m. Nell'IFN, le aree che soddisfano la definizione di bosco dell'IFN sono considerate foreste.
